i think im sometimes just stuck in the middle of wtf and what the hell.
so what does this "femmeartis" really do?
~im a licensed mental health counselor- a clinician who has experience in psychotherapy with adults, children, and families with a variety of mental health and substance abuse disorders. i have an MS in psychology and a minor in visual arts. getting my state licensure after finishing grad school in '05 was a long haul, finally completed earlier this year. right now, i am actually working for the state doing some planning/coordination/adminsitrative work in mental health, which i actually am enjoying.
~when i tell people about the many hobbies and things i'd love to do, i always hear "omg why are you working in this or that?"- cuz it pays the bills, right? :P
~i'd love to be a professional traveler (like anthony bourdain!) who helps people feel better with art and music- never worrying about the money or the how and when- while enjoying coffees and chocolates and learning about new places. but then again, what i do is ok too.
~im an exceptionally good listener, but get frustrated cuz i want the same from other people and i usually dont get it.
~i hate to capitalize words as you can tell.
~there is something to say about the fact that html makes me giddy, despite the little i know!
~i paint & draw with pastels, charcoal, pencil, etc...usually my art is very abstract, dreary, and never typical. i have a pretty good eye for sketching. go to my "art" page and take a look
~i obsess about details. in art, music, everything. tiny little special details are everything
~im going to analyze and change this description around one million times. user beware. (i'm on my "3rd" update)
~i try to experiment with photography. just having fun with that. ive recently learned about lomography and have a lomo fisheye 35 mm and holga 120 mm medium format film camera which i'm obsessed about
~i am a musician. i've been in 3-4 bands since around 1998; played live in a few local venues like the classic Tobacco Road; have recorded 2 demos. i play the piano/keyboards, & in the background, i try to experiment playing with drums, guitar, bass etc. i'd love to dedicate some time and money to learning the violin one day.
~as such, i have over 5,000 songs on my ipod (those of which i had the time to transfer from cds or download). i am quite picky too. and yes i guess that makes me a music snob. more than one friend has dubbed me as such, and its ok- i accept the nomination.
~i compose & write lyrics usually from my scribblings, poetry, or random thoughts. i gotta get these tunes outta my head!
~i also get frustrated trying to compose these days because of having to learn stupid recording programs like sonar. argh! but i'm getting there thanks to my juju's encouragement. oh! *update: i found a program called MixCraft from i dont know who, and its soooo user friendly!
~and saving the best for last, i live in a newly decorated and cute apt with my dear juju and 3 kitties: axl, scully, and ariel. all of which make me a happy little clam. we eventually wanna take the whole entourage to another locale; still pending...miami has burned us out =/

no? well it does in fact. it does now. i mixed a little "femme fatale" with the "Ars Gratia Artis" from the old MGM logo meaning "art for art's sake".
